ESC Volunteer, Saray Iglesias would like to invite you to Eat. Read. Repeat., the feminist book club that she will be hosting at the Mladinski center Zagorje ob Savi from September 2026 to April 2027.
We will gather together on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the following dates:
23rd September,
14th October,
11th November,
16th December,
20th January,
17th February,
17th March,
21st April.
If you are seventeen or plus and you like reading or you would like to create a reading habit and improve your English level this could be the opportunity that you were looking for.
We will have monthly meetings in which you will learn and get inspired by two different female authors: Alma Karlin, from Slovenia and Carmen Laforet, from Spain, our host’s country. You would reflect and understand how life could be seen from two different female perspectives.
1st session: The host will present to you the author and the novel to read in the first month, we will read a biographical novel about Alma Karlin.
2nd session: We will come together to discuss and express our opinion of the novel. You will learn how to review a book.
3rd session: We will host a cineforum in which we will watch a documentary about Alma’s life and you will learn how to take part on a debate by joining our own after the projection.
4th session: We will create a final project to reflect on what we have learnt during the past sessions.
Then the same structure will be repeated with the other author as shown above.
