Živjo! Have you ever stopped and asked yourself
¨ where am I and where I am going?¨.
Life sometimes throws us into the unkown, and last year, I finally asked myself that question.
That was when my path crossed with volunteering projects, I always wanted to go but kept waiting for
¨the right time¨.
I am Zeynep, a teacher from Istanbul who came to Zagorje to chase her dreams, and thanks to this
volunteering project, I took my very first step.
I always had a desire to help people, and when I
thought about what I could do, I knew I wanted to start from the beginning and so here I am, starting
this journey. I also love discovering new places, exploring art galleries and museums, and learning
about the history of the cities I visit.
Small adventures like trying local food, wandering through old streets or sitting in a ćafe and watching life go by are the little things make me feel alive.
At this point, I believe that you can discover a new version of yourself, one you never met before,
once you cross the line of fear and see what you can do with empathy and understanding for yourself
and others. Trust me, I say this as someone who needs one hour of overthinking just to convince
herself to go to the gym : ).
Think of your personality like layers because each of us has many. The only thing we have to do is
shed one shell and learn to live with a new one. Speaking about the new layers, I was amazed the
first time I saw the whole forest here from the plane high above the sky. I think being in nature is the
best way to connect with your soul, so I feel so lucky to be here. And If you ever see me walking around or sitting somewhere with a book,

I will also be at the elementary school which makes me so excited to meet new students and have great time together!
