Komunikacija, ki povezuje: Zeynepin osebni ESC projekt

Zeynep, an ESC programme volunteer, did her volunteering project in the elementary school Tone Okrogar and youth centre Mladinski center Zagorje ob Savi. For her personal project, she chose the topic of Nonviolent Communication for 7th grade students.

Since September 2025, she has been teaching different age groups at the school. Based on her observations, especially in the upper grades, she decided on this project topic.
One of the main aims of her project is to teach students healthy communication steps and how to use them. She prepared a presentation in an informal and fun way, encouraging students to think about their own communication problems.

In this presentation, students learned the steps of nonviolent communication in order: observation, feelings, needs, and request.

During the presentation, they had the chance to examine and analyze different situations and dialogues. Before learning the steps, they first focused on observation. Then they discussed what feelings they noticed, what needs were behind those feelings, and why people have these feelings and needs. They also talked about how these affects daily life.

Students shared their own observations. In one of the dialogues, they looked at a common conflict that can happen during a business trip with friends. They observed the responses in this situation and discussed what the feelings and needs were, and whether a clear request was expressed.
