Did you know that the meaning of “origami” comes from Japanese language? “Ori” means “folding”, and “kami” means “paper”. It is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding and the goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.
The origami uses only a small number of different folds, which however can be combined in various ways to form complex drawings. Generally part is a square piece of paper, whose faces can be of different colors or patterns, continuing without cutting the paper.

Pomeni: oru “zložljivi” in kami, “papir”.
