A new year started and a new adventure began for me. My name is Maria and I come from Italy, since the 11th of January I’m living in Zagorje, as a new EVS volunteer in MC ZOS.

I’ve been accepted for the EVS project named »Gamble your Chance« the day before Christmas, and this was my best Christmas gift ever. Everything happened so fast, I was very happy, maybe a little bit worried about it but, I thought finally, I would had the chance to do something useful. So, I left my country and my family to live a new exciting experience in Slovenia.

Being an EVS volunteer happens once in your lifetime and it could be an unforgettable experience. Why? Because the EVS gives you the opportunity to live in another country providing your service in a non-profit organizations. It could be the best way to get in touch with a new culture, a new language and to make a lot of new friends.

In the MC ZOS I will work in a several event organizations involving the local community and giving my all support, I’m sure that it will need me to grow up personally and professionally.

In the beginning, it could be so hard, you have to leave your homely environment and change some of your habits, you have to understand and to communicate in another language, or maybe two, but why not to try it?

It’s a challenge! I will do my all best, so let’s start!!
